Gift ideas for dogs that aren’t toys or treats?
Main Post:
I want to spoil my pup with Christmas presents. Problem is, she doesn’t play with toys (she’s very timid) and I’ve already gotten her a bunch of treats! Does anyone have any other interesting gift ideas for their pups?
EDIT: She’s a 5-year-old Golden Retriever and we live in Colorado, if that helps! I’ve tried pretty much every toy under the sun and she’s just not interested, unless it’s one of those treat puzzles. Her favorite activities are getting belly rubs, rolling in the snow, and more belly rubs.

Gift for new puppy owners
Main Post:
My neighbours recently got a puppy. Since they were really kind when I adopted my senior dog, and have always been understanding about her dementia, I wanted to give them a little gift. I have no idea about puppies, because my heart belongs to senior and disabled dogs. What's a good gift for a little pup and their owners?
Top Comment: Teething toys! They don’t even know how thankful they will be you for that in the future hahaha

Gift for a dog lover
Main Post:
What can I get my sister for her birthday? She has two dogs that she loves. I think they are both golden doodles. $50 range
Top Comment: I realize it's not super personal but a gift card from Chewy's or your local pet store is always appreciated. She can get food, shampoo, toys... whatever she needs vs. you trying to guess.
[Discussion] Creative gift ideas for dogs and/or their dog-loving owners?
Main Post:
With the holiday season upon us, I've been thinking a lot about really unique, one-of-a-kind gifts people can get for their pets, or for another individual who owns pets.
I have a couple of ideas, but I'd love to get input from others and get a little mastermind list of ideas.
Here's what I've got..
1. Bake-A-Bone: I've seen this item floating around and thought it was pretty great - it lets you bake homemade doggie treats for your dog (obviously you could do it with an oven, but these get baked into a perfect bone-shaped biscuits), plus comes with recipes.
2. Treat-dispensing dog toys. There are many different kinds of treat dispensing dog toys, but the main idea is that the dog nudges or plays with the toy, and bits of kibble or treats come out. This is a really fun one for dogs, plus it keeps them occupied (so they won't be bored enough to rip up the couch or anything) and encourages mental stimulation.
3. BarkBox. Probably not super creative, but BarkBox can be pretty fun for pets and their people. For those who don't know, BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs, which delivers a new set of treats and toys each month. Let's face it, we all like getting packages. Now your dog can get one too, which is nice for them (and fun for the human).
4. Custom Etsy Portrait. There are some really talented and affordable artists on Etsy who can do a great portrait for your dog. They can be as simple as a quick pen illustration, or as sophisticated as a nice painting you can hang above the mantle (or maybe right above your dog's favorite hangout spot).
5. Custom Crocheted Mini-Dog. I saw on Etsy that there are artists who will crotchet a replica of your dog! Pretty adorable idea.
6. Glow in the Dark Ball. With skies getting darker earlier, I bet many a dog would appreciate a glow-in-the-dark ball for a little more nighttime fun. I've heard good things about the ChuckIt ball.
Any other ideas? It would be great to compile a little gift guide list of suggestions for dog lovers!
Edit: People have been talking a lot about Etsy dog gifts, so I thought I'd post this article I wrote recently on 10 Unique Etsty Gifts for Dogs & Dog Owners. My favorite by far are these embroidery hoop portraits - so friggin cute!
Top Comment: Piggybacking on your custom pet portrait idea, just want to make a plug for u/kovah who draws wonderful caricatures of pets! She created this fantastic piece of my pup Bonnie . Couldn't be more pleased with the result.
Best gifts for a dog who has everything?
Main Post:
I'm visiting a friend in LA next week and meeting her dog for the first time. I want to bring him (a cocker spaniel 1 year old) something but not sure what's a good gift especially since he is pretty spoiled, has tons of toys, etc. Any creative and thoughtful gift ideas?

what would be a good birthday gift for a new dog owner?
Main Post:
My sister just got a German Shepherd 2 months ago, he's about 5 months old now. I know that he's all she cares about at the moment, so I thought that it would be good if my gift was about him.
One of my ideas was to buy her a gift card for a photo session with her dog, there's a pretty good one I know who uses some color powder to make photos cool.
Top Comment: I think your idea is terrific, and id almost guarantee it would be loved.

Gift for a friend who loves her dog
Main Post:
I'm thinking like some custom artwork or something. Last year I gave her wine glasses with her dogs face on it and she loved it. So I'm sure you all know the standard.
EDIT: We also both love anime so if that was combined it would be 👌
Top Comment: If she likes anime and personalized things... maybe I can help you, I can recreate stories and turn them into a comic page, then you can recreate how you met and your best moments and even put her dog to make it more special
[Help] Please give me a good gift idea for a friend of mine (female) that has a dog (I don't even know the sex/race), and has actually invited me to his/her birthday
Main Post:
I'm guessing that the present has to be for the dog (??)
Top Comment:
You can't go wrong with a gift card to a pet supply store if you really don't know much about the dog!
End of life gift for dog owner
Main Post:
My business partner’s dog has a few months left until she crosses the rainbow bridge. I would love to get her a thoughtful gift now of something she can do with her dog or something to keep as a memory of her time with her sweet rescue pup before she dies. I have researched but haven’t come up with anything I really like. Hoping this awesome group can help me come up with some good ideas. The loss of a pet is devastating and I appreciate your time in helping me with this.
Top Comment: This is so thoughtful. A few ideas I've done: A food delivery gift card because cooking when you're grieving sucks (though this is less appropriate ahead of time, obviously) Customized portrait of the dog. Lots of good options on Etsy A stuffed animal that looks like the dog One of those pillows that they add a picture of the dog too. If you google "Custom pet shaped pillow" there are options. I actually have two of my dog I've gotten as gifts and I just adore them. Memorial picture frame with a photo of the dog Engraved paperweight with the dogs name/paw print decor
